Popular forex indicators explained
Technical indicators turn raw price into signals you can read at a glance — moving averages, RSI and MACD are the three every trader should know.
Moving averages (MA)
A moving average smooths price into a single line to reveal the trend. Price above a rising MA means the trend is up; crossovers of a fast and slow MA are classic signals.
RSI (Relative Strength Index)
RSI measures momentum on a 0–100 scale. Above 70 is often "overbought", below 30 "oversold" — useful for spotting stretched moves that may pause or reverse.
MACD
MACD tracks the relationship between two moving averages to show momentum shifts and potential trend changes through its signal-line crossovers.
Combining indicators
No single indicator is a crystal ball — traders pair a trend tool with a momentum tool for confirmation. Explore ready-made tools on our forex indicators page, or skip the setup and trade our signals.
